Monday is a very blessed day.  To travel and to go on business trips on this day is a means of great blessings.  Hazrat Anas Ibn Maalik – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that when the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – was asked concerning Monday he stated:

یَوْمُ سَفَرٍ وَّ تِجَارَۃٍ قَالُوْا کَیْفَ ذٰلِکَ یَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰہِ قَالَ لِاَنَّ فِیْہِ سَافَرَ شِیْثُ عَلَیْہِ السَّلَامُ لِلتِّجَارَۃِ وَرَبِحَ فِیْ تِجَارَتِہٖ۞

“It is the day for travelling and doing business.”  They asked, “How is that O Allah’s Messenger?”  He replied, “Because Hazrat Sheeth – peace be upon Him – had travelled for a business trip on this day and he made great profit in his business.”

(Ghunyatut Taalibeen Vol. 2, p. 73; Kitaab Al-Sab’iyyaat p. 45)

Important Events to Occur on Monday:

The righteous scholars have mentioned that Allah Almighty had granted Monday 7 significance:

  1. Hazrat Idrees – peace be upon Him – went into the sky and entered paradise on Monday.
  2. Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – went to the mount Tur on Monday.
  3. The proof of the Oneness of Allah Almighty was revealed on Monday.
  4. The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – was born on Monday.
  5. The first Wahy brought by Hazrat Jibreel – peace be upon Him – was revealed upon the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – the first time on Monday.
  6. The actions of the Ummah are presented before the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – on Monday.
  7. The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – from the temporary world to the eternal on Monday.

(Kitaab Al-Sab’iyyaat p. 45)

  1. Hazrat Idrees – peace be upon Him – went into the sky and entered paradise on Monday.

His name is Ukhnoon.  He is the great grandfather of Hazrat Nooh – peace be upon Him.  He was the first Messenger (Rasool) after Hazrat Adam – peace be upon Him.  Hazrat Sheeth Ibn Adam – peace be upon Him – is his father.  He is the first person to write with a pen.  He is the one who invented the art of sewing or stitching and wearing sewn or stitched clothes.  People before him used to wear animal skin.  He is first one to manufacture weapons, scale and established measurements, and the first to master the fields of astronomy and mathematics.  All of these originated from him.  Allah Almighty had revealed 30 books upon him and he used to teach Allah’s books very often, therefore his title became “Idrees” (from Dars i.e. teaching) and this title of his became so widely known and famous that most people are not aware of his original name.  His name “Idrees” is mentioned in the Holy Quran.

Allah Almighty raised him into heavens.  It is mentioned in the Hadeeth of Buhari and Muslim that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – saw Hazrat Idrees – peace be upon Him – on the fourth heaven.

It is narrated from Ka’b Ahbaar and some other sources as well that once Hazrat Idrees – peace be upon Him – asked the angel of death, “I want to taste death and see how it feels, so capture my soul, please.”  The angel of death obeyed the command and then right after capturing his soul he returned it into his body, and he became alive, and then he requested him to show him the hell, so that Allah’s fear may instil more.  Hence, when this request was fulfilled, looking at the hell he asked the gate-keeper of hell to open the gate and said, “I want to go through this entrance”, which was also fulfilled and he made it through, and then he requested the angel of death to show him paradise and he took him to paradise, and when the was opened for him and he entered inside, after a short while, the angel of death said to him, “Now you should return to your place.”  He responded, “I will not go anywhere from here.  Allah Almighty has stated:

کُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَۃُ الْمَوْتِ ۟

Every soul is to taste death.

(Al-‘Ankaboot 29, Verse 57)

Which I have just tasted, and Allah Almighty has stated:

وَ اِنۡ مِّنۡکُمْ اِلَّا وَارِدُہَا

There is not one of you who may not pass over the Hell.

(Maryam 19, Verse 71)

And I have already passed that stage, and now, I have reached the paradise, and for those that enter into paradise Allah Almighty has stated about them:

وَّ مَا ہُمۡ مِّنْہَا بِمُخْرَجِیۡنَ ﴿۴۸﴾

Nor shall they be driven out there from.

(Al-Hajar 15, Verse 48)

So why would you ask me to come out of paradise?”  Allah Almighty send Wahy to the angel of death that whatever Hazrat Idrees – peace be upon Him has done he has done so with my permission and he entered the paradise with my permission, so leave him.  He will stay in the paradise.

Hazrat Idrees – peace be upon Him – is in the heaven and he is alive.

(Khazain Al-‘Irfan p. 556-557)

The brief mention of Hazrat Idrees’ – peace be upon Him – ascension into the heaven and the bounties that were bestowed upon him is in the Surah Maryam of the Holy Quran:

وَاذْکُرْ فِی الْکِتٰبِ اِدْرِیۡسَ ۫ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ صِدِّیۡقًا نَّبِیًّا ﴿٭ۙ۵۶﴾

And remember Idrees in the Book, undoubtedly he was a man of truth, the Communicator of unseen news.

And We raised Him up to a lofty building.

These are they on whom Allah bestowed His blessings from amongst the communicators of unseen news, of the offspring of Adam.

(Maryam 19, Verse 56-58)

(Ajaibul Quran p. 171-173)

  1. Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – went to the mount Tur on Monday.

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – undertook seven journeys on the day of Monday:

  1. The Journey of Anger:

This is his journey when He was born.  There was this fear of the army of Pharaoh, therefore his mother put him in the river due to the fear of Pharaoh’s anger.  This journey was initiated by the Will of the Allah the Most Wise, He states:

And We inspired the mother of Musa, suckle him, when you may have fear for him, then cast him into river and fear not and nor grieve; undoubtedly, We shall return him to you and shall make him a Messenger.

(Al-Qasas 28, Verse 7)

  1. The Journey of Flight

When Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – killed someone for his crimes then he feared the tyrant kingdom of Pharaoh.  Hence, he undertook his journey to Madyan where Hazrat Shu’aib – peace be upon Him – resided.  The place is called Madyan Ibn Ibraheem and it is situated at the distance of eight days of travelling.  This city was excluded from the kingdom of Pharaoh.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – did not even know how to get there neither had he any mode of transport nor food or any companion.  He survived by eating the leaves of trees and grass on his way.  Allah Almighty sent an angel who directed him towards Madyan.  Allah Almighty stated about this journey in the Holy Quran as follows:

فَخَرَجَ مِنْہَا خَآئِفًا یَّتَرَقَّبُ ۫ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِیۡ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۲۱﴾٪

Then he got out of the city fearing and waiting anxiously what happens now. He submitted, ‘O my Lord, save me from the oppressors’.

And when he diverted his attention towards Madian, he said, ‘it is near that my Lord may tell me the straight path’.

(Al-Qasas 28, Verse 21-22)

  1. The Journey of Pursuit

In Madyan, Hazrat Shu’aib – peace be upon Him – had given his daughter Hazrat Safoora’s – may Allah be pleased with Her – hand in Hazrat Moosa’s – peace be upon Him – hand.  He stayed there for ten years afterwards and then he sought permission from Hazrat Shu’aib – peace be upon Him – and returned to Egypt with his wife Hazrat Safoora – may Allah be pleased with Her.  It was the time of night in a jungle on their way and Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – had lost the direction and then he saw the light of a fire and went towards it which was his journey of pursuit which Allah Almighty has mentioned in the Holy Quran as follows:

When Musa fulfilled his term and departed with his wife, he observed a fire from the side of the Tur (Mountain) He said to his household, ‘stay here, I have observed a fire from the side of Tur, perhaps I may bring you some news from there, or I may bring to you any brand from the fire that you may warm yourself.

(Al-Qasas 28, Verse 29)

  1. The Journey of Reason

When Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – was troubled by Pharaoh and his allies and followers he left Egypt in the night with Bani Israel.  When Pharaoh and his people came to know in the morning that Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – had left Egypt with Bani Israel he became very angry and went with an army in search of Bani Israel.  At last, he found them at one spot.  Bani Israel were terrified looking at the gigantic army and since, they did not have means to withstand in challenge with Pharaoh’s army they were in a state of panic and trauma.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – calmed them and said that they need not worry, the power of Allah is with them.  By the command of Allah Almighty, Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – striked in the ocean with his staff and 12 pathways were made on which Bani Israel successfully crossed the ocean, and when Bani Israel tried to go through those pathways and reached in the middle of the ocean the water was leveled once again and those pathways disappeared which caused Pharaoh and his army to drown in the water and they all died therein.

The journey of Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – which was reason for Pharaoh and his army to be drowned is therefore called the Journey of Reason.  The following Quranic statement states the following about this journey:

فَاَتْبَعُوۡہُمۡ مُّشْرِقِیۡنَ ﴿۶۰﴾

Then the people of Firawn followed them at the sunrise.

Then when the two groups saw each other, the people of Musa said, ‘They have over taken us’.

Musa said, ‘Not so, undoubtedly my Lord is with me, He guided me just now.

Then We revealed to Musa, strike the sea with your staff hence the sea was parted, and every part was like a big mountain.

And We brought others nearer to that place.

And We saved Musa and all those with him.

Then We drowned the others.

Undoubtedly in it necessarily is a sign.

(Al-Shu’ara 26, Verse 60-67)

  1. The Journey of Wonders

This journey began from Egypt to the land of Al-Shaam and hence, numerous wonderful things happened at this occasion therefore it is called the journey of wonders.

After Pharaoh and his people were destroyed, When Pharaoh was drowned in the river Nile all the Bani Israel became Muslim and Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – gained some peace, Allah Almighty commanded to enter the Holy Land (Bait Al-Maqdis) with the army of Bani Israel.  The nation of Amaalaqa had captured the Holy Land and they were one of the most disgraceful among the kuffaar yet great in strength and skilled soldiers and famous for their oppression.

Hence, he left with the army of six hundred thousand Bani Israel to make Jihaad against them.  Bani Israel became afraid of them as they came closer in the proximity of Bait Al-Maqdis and said that they are a very mean and barbaric nation who are very strong and powerful, and we will not enter for as long as they are in the city.  They even said to him, “O Moosa!  You and your Lord must go and fight, we will sit here.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – felt very disheartened on this and made Du’a to Allah Almighty:

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّیۡ لَاۤ اَمْلِکُ اِلَّا نَفْسِیۡ وَاَخِیۡ فَافْرُقْ بَیۡنَنَا وَبَیۡنَ الْقَوْمِ الْفٰسِقِیۡنَ ﴿۲۵﴾

Moses submitted, ‘O my Lord! I have no control over any but myself and my bother then You keep us separate from these disobedients

(Al-Ma’idah 5, Verse 25)

Revealing His Anger on this, Allah Almighty stated:

قَالَ فَاِنَّہَا مُحَرَّمَۃٌ عَلَیۡہِمْ اَرْبَعِیۡنَ سَنَۃً ۚ یَتِیۡہُوۡنَ فِی الۡاَرْضِ ؕ فَلَا تَاۡسَ عَلَی الْقَوْمِ الْفٰسِقِیۡنَ ﴿٪۲۶﴾

Allah said, ‘then that land is forbidden to them for forty years, let them wander in the land, therefore grieve not over these disobedients.

(Al-Ma’idah 5, Verse 26)

As a result of it, they were wandering off in the plains of Teeh for 40 years and could not get out of it.  The plains are called “Teeh”.  Mann and Salwa was revealed from heavens as their food.  When Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – hit his stick on the stone and 12 springs flowed.  The Holy Quran has described this incident at many different occasions but it is mentioned with its full detail in Surah Ma’idah which is indeed a surprising story.  Despite all what they had done, the love and affection of Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – was still with Bani Israel.  When they were hungry and thirsty in the plains of Teeh he made Du’a and they were provided with Maan and Salwa as their food and then struck his stick onto the stone and caused 12 springs to flow for the supply of water.  One can imagine the patience and tolerance of Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – from this.

(Ajaib Al-Quran of Allamah Abdul Mustafa Aazmi)

----

Mann and Salwa

Allah Almighty revealed, two types of foods from heaven during Hazrat Moosa’s – peace be upon Him – stay with 600,000 Bani Israel in the plains of Teeh.  One was named as “Mann” and the other as “Salwa”.  Mann was a pudding or Halwa (to be precise) purely white in color which would taste like honey or it was white honey that used to rain down from the heaven and Salwa were cooked quails which used to come down from heaven with the wind blowing from the southerly direction.

Allah Almighty mentioned it in the Quran as one of His bounties upon the Bani Israel:

وَاَنۡزَلْنَا عَلَیۡکُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوٰی

and sent down on you Manna and Salwa

(Al-Baqarah 2, Verse 57)

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – had a set of rules when it came to Mann and Salwa:

“You must eat and finish it the same day, and never preserve it.”  But when some who had ill-feelings feared what if the Mann and Salwa does not reveal one day, they will die of hunger in that dry plain.  Hence, when some of them did save some for tomorrow, then this act of disobedience brought forth such misfortune that whatever they had saved had all got rotten and the revelation of this bounty was cut off in future.  It is for this reason that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – stated, “If there were no Bani Israel no food would ever rot, for the rotting of food and meat began from that day, otherwise no food would spoil nor the meat would rot prior to this.”

(Tafseer Roohul Bayaan Vol. 1)

Springs Flowing by a Strike of the Stick:

The original homeland of the Bani Israel was Syria (Shaam) but they relocated to Egypt the ruling state of Hazrat Yusuf – peace be upon Him – and the people of Amaalaqa who were the meanest kind of infidels took over the whole of Shaam.  When Pharaoh was drowned in the river Nile and Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – was at peace from his troubles Allah Almighty commanded to make Jihaad in order to liberate Shaam from the illegal occupation of the nation of Amaalaqa.  Hence, he left Egypt with the army of six hundred thousand Bani Israel but the attack of Amaalaqa was such that Bani Israel became afraid of them and turned their backs.  Allah’s punishment upon this was that they were wandering off in the plains of Teeh for 40 years and could not get out of it.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – was also with them in the plains of Teeh.  When they became restless with the extreme need of thirst and hunger Allah Almighty revealed Mann and Salwa from heavens as their food upon the Dua of Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him.  Mann was a Halwa like honey and Salwa was the roasted birds.  When they were in need of water after they had eaten and could not bear the thirst Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – hit his stick on the stone and 12 springs flowed and the 12 tribes of Bani Israel themselves drank from them and also fed their animals, and it continued for the entire duration of 40 years.  It was the miracle of Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – which became a reality by his stone and the stick.  The Holy Quran has described the incident in the following manner:

وَ اِذِ اسْتَسْقٰی مُوۡسٰی لِقَوْمِہٖ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبۡ بِّعَصَاکَ الْحَجَرَ ؕ فَانۡفَجَرَتْ مِنْہُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَۃَ عَیۡنًا ؕ قَدْ عَلِمَ کُلُّ اُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَہُمْ

And when Moses asked water for his people, then We said, “Strike this rock with your staff,” at once, there gushed forth twelve springs therefrom. Each group knew its drinking place.

(Al-Baqarah 2, Verse 60)

  1. The Journey of Adab

It is mentioned in Tafseer Husaini that after the destruction of Pharaoh Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – gathered the Bani Israel and delivered such a wonderful sermon that the audience was astonished by listening to such a meaningful and wonderful speech.  One of them asked, “O Moosa, (peace be upon Him) is there anyone more knowledgeable than you?”

He replied, “Not in my knowledge, at least.”

One day, the dialog between Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – and Allah Almighty took place in the following manner:

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him:        O Allah!  Who is Your most beloved servant from amongst Your servants?

Allah Almighty:  One who always remembers Me and never forgets Me.

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him:       Who is the best decision-maker?

Allah Almighty:  One who makes decisions in the light of truth and never follows his carnal desires.

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him:       Who amongst Your servants is the most knowledgeable?

Allah Almighty:  One who always keeps on learning from others while still having the knowledge, so that he may find some substance which may lead him to guidance or save him from destruction.

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him:       If there is anyone more knowledgeable than me from amongst Your servants, inform me?

Allah Almighty:  Khizr is more knowledgeable than you.

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him:       Where will I find him?

Allah Almighty:  On the rocks at the seashore.

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him:       How do I reach there?

Allah Almighty:  Begin your journey with a fish in your basket.  The place where the fish disappears will be your meeting point with Khizr.

(Madaarik Al-Tanzeel Vol. 3, p. 217)

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – undertook the journey towards the meeting point for two oceans in the companionship of his servant and student Hazrat Yoosha’ Ibn Noon Ibn Ifraeem Ibn Yusuf – peace be upon Them.  After travelling a long distance Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – fell asleep and it was the place where the fish came alive and jumped in the ocean, and wherever it made a hole in the water.  When Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon Him – got up from his sleep and continued with the journey and it was time for lunch.  When he asked his student Hazrat Yoosha’ Ibn Noon for the fish he said, “The place where you had fallen asleep the fish jumped into the ocean and I forgot to inform you.”  He said, “That was our destination we were in search of.”

However, he went back and traced the way which led him to Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him.  When Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – met him he greet him with Salaam, and Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – said in a state of surprise, “Where have the people of paying Salaam emerged in this place?”  He asked Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him, “Who are you?”  He replied, “I am Moosa.”  He then asked, “Which Moosa?  Are you the Moosa of Bani Israel?”  He replied, “Yes, of course.”  Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – then told him, “O Moosa, Allah Almighty has granted me a type of knowledge which you do not know, and He has given you a type of knowledge which I am not aware of.”  Meaning, He possessed the “Mystical Knowledge” which Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – did not know and Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – possessed the knowledge of Shariah which He was not aware of.”

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – sought permission from Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – to follow him, so that he could teach him some of the knowledge which he was granted by Allah Almighty.  Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – replied, “You cannot have patience with me.”  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – said, “I will be patient inshaAllah and will never disobey you.”  Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – said, “On one condition; that you will not question me about anything until I myself inform you.”

After the agreement, began to walk on the seachore in the company of Hazrat Moosa and Yoosha’ Ibn Noon – peace be upon them – and when they saw a boat they boarded the boat on invitation of the sailors and they did not even ask them for a fare.  When they sat in the boat Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – took out an axe from his bag and broke a plank from the ship and threw it in the ocean.  Looking at this Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – could not bear it and spoke up, and asked him the following question:

اَخَرَقْتَہَا لِتُغْرِقَ اَہۡلَہَا ۚ لَقَدْ جِئْتَ شَیْـًٔا اِمْرًا ﴿۷۱﴾

‘have you cleaved it in order to drown its passengers, undoubtedly you have done a wrong thing.’

(Al-Kahf 18, Verse 71)

Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – then said:

اَلَمْ اَقُلْ اِنَّکَ لَنۡ تَسْتَطِیۡعَ مَعِیَ صَبْرًا ﴿۷۲﴾

He said? ‘ did I not tell you, that you would not be able to stay with me.’

(Al-Kahf 18, Verse 72)

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – apologized:

لَا تُؤَاخِذْنِیۡ بِمَا نَسِیۡتُ وَ لَا تُرْہِقْنِیۡ مِنْ اَمْرِیۡ عُسْرًا ﴿۷۳﴾

Musa said, ‘catch me not for what I forgot and put not difficulty in my affair on me.

(Al-Kahf 18, Verse 73)

As they moved along a little farther Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – saw a small child who was the only son of his parents.  Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – pressed his neck, nailed him to the ground and killed him.  Looking at this horrific scene Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – lost his patience and said in a firm tone:

اَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا زَکِیَّۃًۢ بِغَیۡرِ نَفْسٍ ؕ لَقَدْ جِئْتَ شَیْـًٔا نُّکْرًا ﴿۷۴﴾

‘have you killed an innocent soul without his having killed another? Undoubtedly you have done a hideous thing’.

(Al-Kahf 18, Verse 74)

Hazrat Khizr – peace be upon him – again told him the same thing about him not having patience.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – then said:

اِنۡ سَاَلْتُکَ عَنۡ شَیۡءٍۭ بَعْدَہَا فَلَا تُصٰحِبْنِیۡ ۚ قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِنۡ لَّدُنِّیۡ عُذْرًا ﴿۷۶﴾

‘If I ask anything to you after this, then keep not company with me; undoubtedly, your excuse is already fulfilled from my side’.

(Al-Kahf 18, Verse 76)

Again both went on till they came to the people of a village, they asked the villagers for food, but they refused to entertain them, then the two found a wall about to fall, he set it up right by reciting Ism Azam.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – who was already frustrated at their unfair treatment, became angry and he could not stand it and said:

لَوْ شِئْتَ لَتَّخَذْتَ عَلَیۡہِ اَجْرًا ﴿۷۷﴾

‘if you had wished, you could have taken a wage for it’.

(Al-Kahf 18, Verse 77)

He said, “This is the separation between me and you”; now I shall tell you the explanation of those things over which you could not have patience.  As for the boat which I broke, it belonged to certain poor people who were working in the sea and survived on its income, then I intended to make it faulty and behind them because there was an unjust king who used to seize every perfect boat forcibly, so that it stays safe from his hands, and the boy whom I killed was Kaafir bu birth and his parents loved him limitlessly and fulfilled all his demands, his parents were pious Muslims, then we feared that he might involve them in infidelity, therefore, by killing him, I saved his parents from kufr, and if his parents have patience then their Lord might will give them a daughter in lieu of the boy who will be married to a Prophet and a Prophet will be born through her womb who will guide a nation.

As for that leaning wall, it belonged to the two orphan lads of the city and underneath it was their treasure and their father was a noble man.  If the wall collapsed now the people of the village would have taken it, and then your Lord desired that those two should reach their maturity and bring forth their treasure as a mercy from your Lord, therefore I did not let the wall fall now.  O Moosa, be content that whatever I did was not of my own biding but as Allah Almighty willed me to do.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – then returned to his homeland.

(Madaarik Al-Tanzeel Vol. 3, p. 219-221)

  1. The Journey of Pleasure

The journey of pleasure is the journey which Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – had undertaken to go to the mount of Tur and converse with Allah Almighty.  Hence, Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – was blessed with the pleasure of speaking to Allah Almighty and it’s an occasion of happiness and pleasure, therefore this journey is called the journey of pleasure.

The story, as it happened and as mentioned in the narrations that, when Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – at the mount of Tur he was clean and wore clean clothes and kept fast.

Allah Almighty descended a cloud which covered the mountain from all sides.  All the animals living there, devils and even the angels were evacuated from there and the sky was opened for him.  He saw the angels in the space and he clearly saw the ‘Arsh of Allah Almighty and he also heard the sound of the pen writing on the Protected Tablet, and then Allah Almighty blessed him with His speech.  Hazrat Jibreel – peace be upon him – was with him but whatever Allah Almighty had stated to him, he did not hear.  The delight created by the beauty of Allah’s speech had made him longing for his vision.

(Tafseer Khaazin etc.)

Allah Almighty has stated the following about the very journey in the Holy Quran:

And when Musa came to Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he submitted, ‘O my Lord! Show me Your sight that I may behold You, Said He, you shall never see me; but look towards this mountain, if it remains standing at its place, then soon you will see Me. Then when his Lord made His light shine on the mountain, He broke it into pieces; and Musa fell down unconscious. Then when he came to senses, he said, Hollowed be you turn towards you and I am the first of the Muslims.

(Al-A’raaf 7, Verse 143)

No human has the power to see Allah Almighty in the world.  Allah Almighty did not state that it is impossible to see Him which proves that seeing Allah Almighty is possible although not in the world, because it is mentioned in Saheeh Ahadeeth that the believers will be blessed with Allah’s vision on the day of Judgment.  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – is an ‘Aarif Billah, and if seeing Allah Almighty were impossible he would never have made the request.

(Khazaainul ‘Irfaan)

  1. The proof of the Oneness of Allah Almighty was revealed on Monday.

Two significance concerning the excellence of Monday have already mentioned and the third, being the proof of Allah’s oneness revealing on Monday which are a set of verses that were revealed on Monday:

وَقَالَ اللہُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوۡۤا اِلٰـہَیۡنِ اثْنَیۡنِ ۚ اِنَّمَا ہُوَ اِلٰہٌ وّٰحِدٌ ۚ فَاِیّٰیَ فَارْہَبُوۡنِ ﴿۵۱﴾

And Allah has said, Take not two gods.’ He is only one God to be worshipped; and therefore fear Me alone.

(Al-Nahl 16, Verse 51)

And We have made pairs of everything that you may reflect.

(Al-Dhaariyaat 51, Verse 49)

Eight males and females, one pair of sheep and one pair of goat; say you, ‘has He made both males unlawful or both females or that which the wombs of two females contain? Inform by any knowledge, if you are truthful.’

(Al-An’aam 6, Verse 143)

Allah Almighty created everything in pairs but He Himself is One, Unique, he does not have anything or anyone similar to Him but his creations are alike and in pairs.

Prior to that they used to go to the skies and listen to the angels talk.  When they all complained to Iblees the cursed about it that today, they were denied access to skies.  Iblees told them to spread on earth and notice the events occurring in today’s date.  When they approached Makkah Mukarramah searching for something noticeable they saw that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is born and the angels are surrounded all around him and a light emanating from him is going upto the skies and the angels are wishing one another.

They returned to Iblees and when they related the whole occurrence, he said screaming and squealing loudly, “Alas! Mercy unto the mankind is born which is why you are denied access to the skies because the sky has become a place for the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – and his Ummah.  Allah Almighty states:

And We have indeed made constellations in the heaven and have adorned it for the beholders.

And We have guarded it from every accursed Satan.

  2. A voice came from all four corners of the Holy Ka’bah at the time of his blessed birth:

The first corner was reciting:

قُلْ جَآءَ الْحَقُّ

‘The truth has come

(Bani Israel, 17, Verse 81)

The second corner:

Assuredly there has come to you a messenger from among yourselves, heavy upon him is your suffering; ardently desirous of your welfare, and to Muslims is most Kind and Merciful.

(Al-Taubah 9, Verse 128)

The third corner was reciting:

قَدْ جَآءَکُمۡ مِّنَ اللہِ نُوۡرٌ وَّکِتٰبٌ مُّبِیۡنٌ ﴿ۙ۱۵﴾

Undoubtedly, there has come to you from Allah a light and a Book, luminous.

(Al-Maaidah 5, Verse 15)

The fourth corner was reciting the following:

یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّبِیُّ اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنٰکَ شٰہِدًا وَّ مُبَشِّرًا وَّ نَذِیۡرًا ﴿۴۵﴾ۙ

‘O prophet! (The Communicator of unseen news), no doubt, We have sent you as a present beholder and bearer of glad tidings and a warner.

(Al-Ahzaab 33, Verse 45)

Hazrat Abdul Muttalib – may Allah be pleased with him – states that he was making the Tawaaf of the Holy Ka’bah at that time.  The idols that were inside the Holy Ka’bah fell from their place in Sajdah and he heard the following from the walls of the Holy Ka’bah:

وُلِدَ النَّبِیُّ الْمُخْتَارُ الَّذِیْ یَھْلِکُ بِیَدِہٖ الْکُفَّارَ وَیُطَھِّرُنِیْ مِنْ ھٰذَا الْاَصْنَامِ وَ یَاْمُرُ بِعِبَادَۃِ الْمَلِکِ الْعَلَّامِ

The chosen Prophet is born who will destroy the kuffaar with his hand and will purify me from these idols and he will command to worship the Master the All-Knowing.

(Kitaabus Sab’iyyaat p. 55)

At last they called and asked him if there is any trouble or if he was ill to be feeling this way?  The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – did not respond to it and said, “Send Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to find out about the matter.  When Hazrat Abu Bakr – may Allah be pleased with him – his childhood friend asked him about what was going on with him, he replied, “I have pain in my heart and there is a burning desire.  I don’t why I do not feel peace or at rest anymore.”  And then he had a bath, wore his clothes, wrapped a shawl and headed towards the cave of Hira.

Upon reaching the cave he devoted himself to Allah’s worship and he cried so sincerely and vigorously in the court of Allah Almighty that the angels in the skies and Hoories began to talk about it and said to Allah Almighty, “O Allah! Today, we have hearing the cries of Your lover.”

Allah Almighty commanded Hazrat Jibreel – peace be upon him, “O Jibreel!  Now it’s the time for the revelation of Wahy and the commandments of Shariah laws of Haraam and Halal.  Go to My beloved and convey My Salaam and Wahy.”

Hazrat Jibreel – peace be upon him – descended and called from the space.  The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – saw that a man dressed in green clothes is standing.  Hazrat Jibreel – peace be upon him – came closer and said, “Iqra’” (read), he relpied, “I am not going to read.”

My life is good for you and my death is also good for you.

They asked, “O Allah’s Messenger!  We know about your life that it is very good for us but how is it that your death is also good for us?”

The Holy prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – replied, “My life is good for you because I call you all towards Allah Almighty with wisdom and virtuous speech and my death is also good for you because your deeds are presented to me on Monday and Thursday.  When I see your good deeds I become happy and when I see your bad deeds I ask Allah for your forgiveness.

She replied, “They are crying because they saw the mosque without you and your absence is making them sad so they are crying.”  He called Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Abbaas – may Allah be pleased with them – and he took the aid of their shoulders and entered the Mosque and performed Salah.  He addressed the Sahaba, “O the group of Muslims!  I leave in the Allah’s protection and observation.  He will help you.  Always be firm on Taqwa and obey Allah Almighty.  I now want to forsake the world.”
